During the second weekend of dove hunting with all zones open, TWPD issued 979 citations and 620 warnings. They also seized over 1,000 illegally harvested doves and 42 baiting cases.
Game wardens also discovered other violations including felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, minor in possession, DWI (third offense), multiple arrest warrants and killing of protected birds.
With over 9,293 patrol hours in dove season alone, TPWD is on the hunt for illegal hunters.
