The Faith Acade - my Knights hosted Kingwood Covenant in their first district meeting of 2025, Fri - day, Oct. 17, at SAB Stadium. The contest began with excite -
ment and concluded in the same way.
Senior Josh Stark took the opening kickoff 67 yards for a touchdown in the first 10 seconds.
Being a rivalry game, the Covenant Knights would re -
spond, trading scores back and forth the en -
tire night. Both teams were limited by inju - ries, making it diffi - cult to substitute de - fenders. Junior QB Dyllan Olivares continued to lead the FA Knights, completing 7 pass - es for 89 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air.
His touchdown throws went to Stark from 15 yards, senior Jackson Dunn from 15 yards, and junior Kelton Galle from 31 yards.
Olivares has yet to throw an interception in 7 contests. Stark and Dunn were the workhorses carrying the ball on the ground, rushing for 109 yards on 10 carries.
Stark would score his third touchdown in the contest on a 26-yard carry through Covenant defenders. Dunn carried the ball 3 times for 33 yards, including a 30-yard touchdown, right through the teeth of the defense.
Dunn also had 2 kickoff returns for touchdowns in the contest. The first was a 46-yard scamper, beating the Covenant defenders to the side- lines.
The second one, we will get to in a minute. He end - ed the contest with 4 total touchdowns with 169 all-purpose yards, including a 17yard pass on a busted play to Galle. Stark would finish with 153 all-purpose yards and 3 touchdowns.
Galle stepped up, in a position that he doesn't usually play, to be a key blocker, and added 2 catch - es for 48 yards and 1 touchdown.
Galle was also a star on defense, hav - ing 11 tackles and 2 Tackles-For-Loss.
Sophomore Brody August would add 8 tackles, a forced fum ble, and a fumble re- covery. Offensively, Au -
gust added 3 catches for 26 yards and nu -
merous key blocks.
Sophomore Antho - ny Best would have a breakout game, as well, having 6 tack - les and a sack. Junior Riley Heyman had an outstanding game from the center posi - tion, with key blocks in the run game, as well as excellent pro - tection on the pass
rushers from Cove - nant, which allowed Olivares to stick to his keys. Now to the excit -
ing part. Both teams exhausted and limit -
ed on subs, Covenant throws a pass to a re - ceiver and is caught for a touchdown to go up on the FA Knights by 2, just 12 seconds remaining.
Coach Trey Carter, with one timeout left, knows that he needs a big return to have a chance to go for the endzone.
Guessing Cove - nant would kick it out of bounds, he would
have 2 plays to pull off the late-game mir - acle. That was not the case. They onside it to Dunn, who waits on 2 huge blocks from Heyman and August, springs 43 yards un - touched to take the lead by 4, with just 3 seconds remaining.
Olivares would add the extra point to go up by 6. The Knights still have to kick off and make a tackle.
Heyman squibs it to their fastest player, who laterals it back, where he is instantly met by Stark and a big time hit by Hey man to end it, in the FA Knights' favor, 6157!!!
A big win for the Knights, who started district with a win.
This week, the Knights will take on Founders Christian in Spring for what is essentially the district title.
