COLUMBUS — Colum- bus police officers respond ed to the Columbus Inn on Oct. 28 to assist hotel staff with a guest. Upon entering the room, officers observed narcotics and a firearm in
plain view.
The firearm was later confirmed stolen out of Har ris County.
The suspect, Sergio Lamar Garcia, 29, of Houston, was arrested for multiple drug charges and an out- standing warrant. Officers seized methamphetamine,
cocaine, other narcotics, and the stolen firearm.
The Columbus Police Department thanks hotel staff for their cooperation and remains committed to keeping the citizens and visitors of Columbus safe through diligent enforcement and community partnerships. The department would also like to thank the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
