BELLVILLE — The Bellville High School football team hosted Caldwell High School Nov. 7 at Brahmas Stadium and won in blowout fashion by a fi -
nal score of 63-14.
Bellville put on the offense from the very beginning and used their run game effectively throughout the entire game.
“I like the fact that we came out and played hard," said Bellville head football coach Grady Rowe. “Re- ally for four quarters, our kids got after it and played hard. We got a lot of guys in the second half that don’t normally get to play and we got a lot of our JV guys in.
Really good reps for them.
Good way to end for our seniors on our home turf. That was good to see."
Bellville senior running back Kendrick Turn- er rushed for 164 yards on seven carries and had three touchdowns to go along with it.
“I just leave it up to God," Turner said. "I've been working a long time
for it." Bellville had a 28-0 lead at the end of the first quarter on a touchdown catch from senior wide receiver Ethan Wright at the nine minute mark, a touchdown about mid- way through the quarter, an interception return for a touchdown from senior Adarius Hutchinson, and a touchdown run with three minutes to go from junior running back Travis Turner.
The Brahmas kept the offense rolling and scored in the first minute of the second quarter with one of Kendrick Turner’s three touchdowns. Kendrick Turner added another touchdown at the seven minute mark, then Caldwell responded with a 10-yard touchdown catch at the 3:57 mark to make it 42-7 in fa vor of Bellville.
Brahmas sophomore Rody Luera rushded up the middle for a 75-touchdown a few seconds later, which was followed by Kendrick Turner’s third touchdown for 81 yards to give Bell -
ville a 56-7 lead going into halftime. Bellville junior Hayden Toole ran for a 10-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter and Caldwell scored their final touchdown in the fi - nal seconds of the quarter, leading to a scoreless fourth quarter and a 63-14 win for Bellville.
