New voter registration certificates coming soon

COLORADO COUNTY — By Dec. 15, all currently registered voters will receive new orange-colored Voter Registration Certificates in the mail. These updated cards will be valid from Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2027, and will replace any previously issued certificates.

The certificates will be sent with a non-forwardable postmark labeled “RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED.” If your address has changed, the post office will return the card to the County Elections Of- fice. Returned Cards & Next Steps:

If your card is returned, we will contact you by mail with instructions on how to proceed. Please note we cannot update your voter record without written authorization.

Didn't Receive Your Card?

If you haven’t received your new certificate or a follow-up letter by the end of December, please contact our office or visit the Texas Secretary of State’s website at VoteTexas.gov to verify your registration status.

Redistricting Update for Colorado County: Due to a redistricting plan passed in August 2025, Colorado County will no longer be part of Congressional District 10 starting in 2026. District 10, previously represented by Rep. Michael McCaul, covered areas from Greater Houston through east-central Texas to parts of Austin. Beginning in 2026, Colorado County will be part of District 27, which was formerly represented by Rep. Michael Cloud and included Corpus Christi, Victoria, and parts of the Austin region.
