Austin County collaboration promotes early detection and preventive care

The last week of October, 27 Austin County residents took an important step toward protecting their health by receiving mammograms through “The Rose.”This opportunity was made possible through the Friend-to-Friend educational program, presented by the Austin County Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Board in partnership with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas Department of State Health Services, and Mid-Coast Medical Center of Bellville. Their involvement helped strengthen the program’s focus on breast health awareness and the vital role that early detection plays in saving lives.

This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to empowering women with knowledge, access, and encouragement to stay proactive about annual screenings.

By guiding more individuals toward preventive care, we continue to work toward improving health outcomes and supporting the well-being of our community.
