WEIMAR — According to
Weimar officials, Weimar City Manager Donald Dixson re - signed on Nov. 17, effective im - mediately. Dixson's resignation occurred on the same day the City of Weimar was scheduled to hold a Notice of Emergency Meeting of the Governing Body of Weimar to discuss and poten - tially take action on the possible termination of the city manager and the appointment of an inter -
im city manager.
This action came on the heels of an unforeseeable release of in - formation on Dixson. That information, according to city officials, was possible ac -
tive criminal allegations against Dixson in the State of Pennsyl - vania. Although a background check was performed on Dixson before his employment, these charges were not included in that check. The city council accepted the resignation of Dixson, effective immediately, and appointed Da - vid Mason as Interim City Man - ager of Weimar. Mason has suc -
cessfully guided the city through its seemingly endless controver - sies in the near past. Mason comes with a wealth of experience in different city de - partments in Weimar, including finance. During his tenure as a past interim city manager, Mason has proven to be a stable and ef -
fective city employee in and out of that position.
