IOWA COLONY — The Sealy High School football team put on a great showing once again in a playoff game vs Columbia High School at Freedom Field of Alvin ISD and won by a final score of 54-7.
Sealy had their offense going from the very begin - ning and basically put the game out of reach by half time.
“Our boys just came out an executed really well tonight,” said Sealy head football coach Clint Finley. "Had a lot of confidence
and we liked the looked they were giving us. They gave us some space and we
were able to take advantage of it tonight."
Tigers senior quarter - back Kane Killough had a big game passing and also was effective running the ball.
“A lot of preparation,” Killough said. "I give full credit to our coaches. They did an incredible job. We knew what they were gon na do to a T and that’s full credit to them. They study for hours every week and they put so much effort into it. Making sure we know what’s going on and I give full credit to the coaches, honestly. I do." Sealy had a 27-0 lead at the end of the first quarter
as sophomore Brady Cran fill took the opening kick
off for a touchdown, which was followed by a 10-yard screen pass for a touchdown to junior Romeo Castillo, another Castillo touchdown for 45 yards down the mid- dle, and a touchdown run
with 35 seconds to go in the quarter by Killough.
Sealy kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter with a two-yard touchdown at the 10 minute mark from Caleb Labba, a 28-yard run from Alan Williams, and a long touchdown catch on a go route down the Sealy sideline with 2:20 to go from AJ Cepon to take a 48-0 advantage at halftime.
The Tigers slowed things down and milked the clock by playing conserva - tive and running the ball for
the rest of the game. Their final score was a 17-yard touchdown catch
by senior Elijah Sanders
at the 2:37 mark in third quarter, then Columbia was able to get on the board in the first few sec-
onds of the fourth quar ter with a 10-yard score to result in a 54-7 final score.
