The Columbus High School football team kept their season going with a win against Westwood High School by a final score of 48-26.
Columbus has really figured things out as the season has gone on and they seem to be playing better and better each game while looking more and more like the state championship team they were last year.
Cardinals quarterback Jack Schobel can make the throws, but he’s really been effective on the ground and has had great games running the ball for a bunch of yards and even some scores throughout the season.
Schobel had 130 yards rushing to go along with two touchdowns in this last game and running back Doc Cantu also had two touchdowns on nine carries for 90 yards.
Columbus has very much put themselves in the state championship conversation with the way they’ve been playing.
Columbus moves to Round 3 Regional Semi-Finals playoff against Franklin Friday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. at Tomball ISD Stadium.
