WEIMAR — Weimar Mayor Carlton Tucker issued a clarifica tion regarding the missed criminal history of former city manager, Donald Dixson. Tucker said, “Weimar Citizens, I am writing to share with you the information that we have that resulted in the resignation of former city manager Donald Dixson on Nov. 17, 2025. This weekend, the City was provided the attached (not shown in this article) three pages of information regarding pending misdemeanor charges; indecent assault and corruption of minors, in Pennsylvania against Mr. Dixon.
The charges remain pending, but Mr. Disxon’s last name was entered as “Dixon” by Pennsylva- nia officials.
A background search on “Mr. Dixson” was conducted through the Texas Department of Public Safety’s website with the assistance of the County Attorney’s office. Due to Pennsylvania mis spelling his name, the pending charges did not appear in the results of a background check.
We recognize that the circumstances surrounding the former City Manager’s resignation have raised understandable concerns within our community.
While recent discovery by the City of the charges - of which the City was not aware during the background check process- have prompted the need for immediate action, the City of Weimar remains committed to transparency, accountability and protecting the public trust.
We appreciate the community’s patience as we work to ensure that all hiring and vetting procedures are thoroughly reviewed and strengthened moving forward.
Our Priority is to uphold the integrity of our city operations and maintain the confidence of the res idents we serve.
With respect, Carlton Tucker, Mayor.”
