BELLVILLE — The Bellville High School girl’s basketball team defeated Luling High School November 24 at Brahmas Gym by a final score of 46-32.
A close first half led to shot making and a bunch of transition scores in the second half for Bellville in order to cruise to victory.
"It's been good," said first-year Bellville head coach Griffin Clary on the transition to Bellville. Clary was previously the head girl’s basketball coach at Brazos High School.
“I’ve had some of these girls for four weeks. They’re just coming back into the flow from volley ball. That’s a lot of what the first half was. We're still getting that rust off. As we get going, it will be cleaner.
They did some things defensively. They were in man then switched it to a zone.
We would go on a little run here and there. Defense was really good today."
Bellville guard Addison Hollomon had a big game with some crucial transition baskets as well as clutch shotmaking.
“I just always remember that my teammate has my back," Hollomon said. "I feel free to take those shots and I know when I take those shots, they'll be there to back me up and give me
a second shot. I think we’re just there for each other."
