K-9 Knox knocks down 200 kilos of crystal meth

Austin County Sheriff’s Deputy Orlando Buitron and K-9 Knox stopped a tractor-trailer going eastbound on Interstate 10 on Nov. 20. Knox alerted on the trailer portion and a subsequent search of the trailer resulted in a hefty seizure hidden among the legitimate load the driver was hauling.

A bounty of 200 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine was discovered thanks to Knox and his nose. This bust set back the cartels by over $10 million in street value. A detailed investigation is ongoing at this time.
