EAGLE LAKE — With a wish list of so many beautiful homes on tour in Eagle Lake, the Gannon House, owned by Taylor Evoritt Gannon, is no exception. It is located at 4276 FM 102 South, in Eagle Lake.
The lovely wooden structure is nestled among live oak trees and sits on family-owned land that originally belonged to Taylor’s grandmother, Betty Terrell Evoritt. The building once served as an office at the Rod and Gun Club and, according to local lore, earned the name “the Clubhouse” because a par-3 golf course was located at the site.
After the structure was moved to its present site, the name remained and was used as a hunting lodge until Gannon’s remodel transformed it into a vibrant event venue. This 100-plus-yearold building doesn’t need to be “dressed up” for the holidays. The Christmas decor is minimal but adorned to let its beauty shine through.
The Eagle Lake Community Garden Guild invites everyone to explore this and other homes as part of its Christmas Homes Tour on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Tea Room, 612 Melody Ln., in Eagle Lake or from each home on the tour.
