Schulenburg boy’s hoops starts season near .500 mark

The Schulenburg High School boy’s basketball team has started the 25-26 season right near the .500 mark with two wins to start the season. They have two losses to area opponents Brazos and La Grange, then a loss to Lockhart and win vs Bastrop. Their first two wins vs Somerville and Waelder were both by a wide margin with the rest of the games being close for the most part Head coach Rich Hoogendoorn has led this program for years and he always gets the most out of his players. The Shorthorns seem to always be solid down on the block and also along the perimeter while being stout on defense. This team has a bunch of seniors, so the experience will bode well for them and with Hoogendoorn still at the helm, Schulenburg is destined to be one of the better teams in the area.
