COLORADO COUNTY — The Colorado County Election Administrator requested that the Colorado County Commissioner’s Court file a Notice of Intent with the Texas Secretary of State's Office to explore adopting countywide voting in Colorado County.
This notice was originally submitted in November for the March 2026 Primary Election; however, Colorado County will not meet the required state deadlines.
Instead, the proposal is now to implement countywide voting beginning with the May 2026 Election if it is determined to be in the best interest of the Colorado County citizens.
The Joint Primary Election on March 3, 2026, will continue under the pre- cinct-specific model with consolidated polling locations. Because of logistical adjustments, polling sites have changed. Please con- firm your designated poll ing location before Election Day. Early Voting is countywide. You may cast your ballot at any of the three early voting locations.
A public hearing on the voting model will be in the commissioner’s court on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at 9 a.m.
