Marilyn Hinze, of Weimar, left, received the
2025 Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Hermann Sons Life Lodge of Schulenburg. A Hermann Sons member since she was 11, she has dedicated her life to service. Aside from owning a day care for 42 years, she helped those who lost homes to fire or those traumatized in natural disasters. She is an EMT with the Colorado County EMS. She volunteers and is involved in seniors programs, supports the Food Bank of Weimar and is an Encore Lion in Weimar.
