The Columbus High School boy’s basketball team is hanging in with a record barely above .500 and this team has the potential to have an even better record with the athletes and coaching they currently possess. It’s hard to take over a team in your first year and win right away, but head coach Chris Carruthers has done an impressive job keeping this team intact.
Columbus has great guard play and they know what it takes to make it to the highest level as a good majority of this roster went to the state tournament last year. Experience always helps and this is a team that could make it back to San Antonio sooner rather than later if they continue to figure things out with a newer group.
