BELLVILLE — The quote, “No act of Kindness, however small, is ever wasted,” by Aesop, describes how small acts of kindness can make big impacts on people at just the right time.
Walter Reese, of Bellville, took a little time out of his busy schedule to make a big difference in a stranger’s life. He went out of his way to find an ice cream flavor that a consumer was looking for at a time in that consumer’s life when they needed a pick-me-up during a really bad week.
Reese was featured in the December 2025 issue of The Scoop, published by Blue Bell Creameries, about his extra mile that brought a bit of happiness to an individual. The individual wrote on a Facebook page that on Dec. 11.
She posted; To the Blue Bell employee who brought me (Chocolate Chip) Cookie Dough Ice Cream while stocking the Brookshire Brothers in Bellville, “You didn’t know this, but I was having a really bad day. Week, really. So, I decided to finally treat myself to my favorite ice cream, and
when I couldn't find it, I thought, go figure."
“Then you brought me a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream while I was standing in line. You made my day. That little bit of kindness meant very much to me.”
