DRT welcomes local historian and new member

COLUMBUS — Tracey Wegehoft, local historian and author, presented a captivating program on Colorado County history to the Dilue Rose Harris Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) on Jan. 20 in Columbus.

The presentation was based on her book, "Live Oaks & Dead Folks: Tales and Images

from the Nesbit Memorial Library Cemetery Tour”.

She reviewed each section, describing interesting tidbits, fascinating photos, and humorous anecdotes.

Her energy, charm and wit kept the entire group enthralled and eager to learn more, or delighted to be part of, the legacy

of our county. Afterward, chapter attendees welcomed new member Gloria Hogue, who was inducted into DRT by President Marilyn Wade and Chaplain Kathleen Townzen.
