Lady Knights heading to playoffs

BELLVILLE — For the first time in a decade, the Faith Academy Lady Knights are headed to the playoffs—and they’re doing it in style.

The Lady Knights offi cially clinched a postseason berth after wrapping up district play with a strong sec- ond-place finish.

The Lady Knights posted a 4–2 district record and finished the regular season with an impressive 11–7 overall mark, signaling a major milestone for the program and a season worth celebrating.

“This group has worked relentlessly all year,” said Coach Jon Waldrop.

“They’ve bought in, grown together, and believed they could do something special— and now they’ve proven it. It has been all about the belief of a mustard seed!”

The Lady Knights will advance to the bi-district round of the TAPPS 1A girls basketball playoffs, where they’ll face Beren Academy tonight (Thursday, Feb. 12) at 6 p.m. The matchup will take place at Beth Keaton Gymnasium in Bellville and promises to be a competitive test as Faith Academy looks to continue its postseason run.

A key factor in the Lady Knights’ success has been balanced team play, highlighted by standout performances from this week’s Players of the Week, Jayleen Jackson and Haley Gillen. Both athletes delivered strong efforts on both ends of the floor, pro viding leadership, energy, and clutch play when it mattered most. Their con- tributions exemplified the grit and determination that defined the Lady Knights' season.

Beyond the wins and statistics, this playoff appearance represents a turning point for the program— one built on perseverance, teamwork, and belief.

As the Lady Knights prepare for Thursday night, they carry with them the momentum of a historic season and the support of a community eager to cheer them on.
