SEALY — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Austin County is currently offering a four-week nutrition education program titled 'Get the Facts' for seniors in the Sealy community.
This educational series is a four-lesson program designed to help seniors build confidence and practical skills for making healthier food choices. Each session builds on the previous lesson and uses easy-to-understand information paired with hands-on activities to support real-life decision-making.
Session 1 highlighted key label components and explained how small changes in food selection can positively impact overall health and well-being.
Participants were actively engaged through fun, hands-on activities that made learning practical, enjoyable, and easy to apply in daily life. The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 10:45 a.m., and all seniors are welcome.
The Get the Facts program is hosted as part of the Senior’s Day Out Program, sponsored by the Willis-Andrew Missionary Society of the Sealy Circuit AMEC.
A heartfelt thank you to Rev. Andre Felder for allowing the program to be held at St. Paul AME Church in Sealy. The Senior’s Day Out Program meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, providing seniors with opportunities for fellowship, education, and enrichment.
