LA GRANGE – Fayette Electric Cooperative is reminding members to remain vigilant after a recent report of suspicious individuals performing tree trimming near power lines without proper identifica tion.
A member in the La Grange area reported that two men arrived at her residence in a plain white pickup truck with no company logo and no visible identifi cation. The individuals stated they were there to trim trees near the power line. The men did not provide names, could not clearly identify who they were working for, and were not wearing uniforms consistent with utility or contractor crews.
While the individuals trimmed some limbs near the power line, one of the men later began discussing unrelated handyman services and performed additional work near the home’s service drop without authorization. Fayette Electric Cooperative has confirmed that the individuals were not employees or contractors working on behalf of the cooperative.
