BELLVILLE — The Bellville High School girl’s soccer team put the offense on display Feb. 17 at Brahmas Field in Bellville and defeated Harmony Katy High School by a final score of 6-0.

A fairly closer first half led to Bellville really turning on the jets in the second half and didn’t allow a single goal en route to a shutout victory.

“We did a little better in that first half executing," said Bellville head girl’s soccer coach Catherine Landua.

“The girls need to spread out, use the entire field, and really execute better on goal because there’s a lot of opportunities that they missed by watching and not moving to the ball. It’s been kind of a rough season. We've had several injuries, but they're kind of young, so just keep working on the little things is what I think." Brahmanettes junior forward Nathlie Gamez played a big part on offense and had three goals for the outing.

“Just from my teammates passing," Gamez said on her successful outing. “I think we practice that a lot. Because of them, I score." Gamez scored the first goal for Bellville at the 20:17 mark in the first half, then junior forward Allison Gonzalez added to the scoreboard with a long goal from the middle of the field about 18 minutes later to make it 2-0.

Bellville scored another long goal from junior midfielder Marionni Elizondo with 1:41 to go to take a 3-0 advantage at halftime.

Gamez scored her second goal for Bellville at the 25:08 mark in the second half that hit the left cross bar and ricocheted in for a 4-0 scoreboard, which was followed by a goal with 10:16 to go from senior midfielder Miriam Orduna. Gamez went on the score her third goal and the last score of the game at the 6:47 mark to eventually win the game 6-0.
