Hound Song Brewing Co. earns silver medal

Haygrazer recognized at annual Texas professional beer competition

AUSTIN — Hound Song Brewing Co. was awarded a silver medal at the 2026 Texas Craft Brewers Cup presented by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild at the Texas Craft Brewers Guild’s Annual Meeting on Feb. 21 in Austin.

Hound Song Brewing Co. was recognized in the Kölsch category for its Haygrazer, a staple in the flagship line-up and recipi ent of the gold medal in last year’s Texas Craft Brewers Cup. Hound Song Brewing Co. is a brewpub located in downtown Columbus that prides itself in high quality beers, welcoming atmosphere, and strong community roots.

“The quality of beer being brewed in the State of Texas continues to rise and we are honored to be considered among the best. Haygrazer is a year-round brand for us and it has become a bit of a darling for our production team,” said Travis Kocurek, director of brewing operations at Hound Song Brewing Co. “We focus intensely on so many details from recipe development to process, and to be recognized among our peers serves as validation that we have some of the best beer in the state being brewed right here in Columbus,” Kocurek added.

Judging took place Feb. 6-8, in Austin, with 56 judges evaluating 930 anonymized entries from 142 breweries hailing from all different corners of the state. The Texas Craft Brewers Cup judging pool was composed of experienced brewing industry professionals and select members of the homebrewing community with extensive Beer Judge Certi- fication Program (BJCP) judging experience.

“As we celebrate this year’s Texas Craft Brewers Cup medalists, we’re celebrating something bigger— the shared commitment to quality that defines Texas craft beer,” said Caroline Wallace, executive director of the Texas Craft Brewers Guild.
