Westside Narcotics Task Force takes down major drug dealer

AUSTIN COUNTY — The Westside Narcotics Task Force, which covers five coun ties and has investigators from the Austin County, Waller County, Fayette County, La vaca County and Colorado County Sheriff's Offices, Bell ville, Sealy and Hempstead Police Departments, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, started an inves- tigation into a drug trafficking organization operating in Austin County in 2025.

Through investigations stemming from arrests and seizures in Austin County, investigators were able to identify the major supplier of nar- cotics as LaQwentis Adams, 44, of Houston.

Based on the information obtained, on Feb.18, the Westside Narcotics Task Force, U.S. Marshals, Houston PD Narcotics, and DPS executed a search warrant at Adams’s residence. The warranted search resulted in the seizure of 3.5 kilograms of cocaine, 4.5 kilograms of crystal meth and $174,372. Adams was also at the residence and was arrested.

Over the course of the investigation, there were six arrests, seven kilograms of cocaine, 9.5 kilograms of crystal meth and $228,122.
