Navidad Valley Cattle Women high school scholarship applications due

The future of agriculture is promising! Navidad Valley CattleWomen (NVCW) have proudly awarded over $120,000 in scholarships since their inception in 2004 to youth whose futures will impact agriculture, particularly the beef industry.

Current applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, March 6.

To qualify, applicants must be a senior in high school or the equivalent thereof, must be a resident of Lavaca, Fayette, or Colorado counties, or must attend a high school in Fayette, Lavaca, or Colorado counties.

Scholarship funds are raised by the generous support of the sponsors of last year’s NVCW Ranch Run. CattleWomen are planning the next event, to be held on August 1 in Schulenburg in conjunction with the Schulenburg Festival.

The Navidad Valley local works to support local youth with scholarships and provide quality information on the industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet.

Additionally, they work to support the community with targeted outreach projects that include a beefy twist. CattleWomen function collectively to inform consumers of the importance of the industry and of the contributions it makes to the economy of our nation.
