Alliance for College & Career Student Success hosting 5K
When one hears the word 'Sausagefest,' strapping on your running shoes and going for a jog is usu- ally not the first thing that comes to mind.
On Saturday, April 11, the ACCSS 5K, will be held in conjunction with the Schulenburg Sausagefest. The ACCSS 5K is hosted by the Alliance for College & Career Student Success (ACCSS), a collaborative program involving the Blinn College District and eight regional independent school districts, including Schulenburg, Flatonia, Weimar, Columbus, Fayetteville, Moulton, Dime Box, and Sealy ISDs.
Believing that rural youth deserve the opportunity to dream big and pursue their goals, the ACCSS program works to ensure that every student, regardless of background, has access to the opportunities needed to thrive in the pursuit of their educational and career aspirations by providing academic and career resources, guidance, and comprehensive support essential for students to attain post-secondary credits or workforce career credentials. All funds raised will support academic dual-credit scholarships and tuition for workforce classes.
