LA GRANGE — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Memorial Benevolent Society (FCSMBS) packed the house at the La Grange KC Hall on March 7 for a fundraiser that brings together the community and law enforcement.

FCSMBS, a 501(c)(3) non- profit supports law enforcement by awarding scholarships to high school seniors of officers and pro - viding financial aid to injured of - ficers. Formed in 2010, FCSMBS has awarded over $400K in schol- arships. FCSMBS averages five or six scholarships for seniors each year, and currently, funds are being used to help offset costs for a county officer and a dispatcher un dergoing cancer treatment.

FCSMBS hosts a Sporting Clay Shoot and Banquet, and community support is overwhelming.
