SEALY — The Sealy High School boy’s soccer team defeated Katy Freeman High School March 13 at TJ Mills Stadium in Sealy by a final score of 2-0.
The Tigers controlled the ball on offense for the majority of the game and notched two big goals in each of the halves to secure the win.
“One thing we have been working on is to keep a clean sheet," said Sealy head boy’s soccer coach Misael Dominguez. “To score goals and then control the tempo after that. Going into second half I told them we won the first half, we just have to go and do the same thing second half."
Tigers senior forward Miguel Rodriguez scored a crucial insurance goal near the midway point of the second half to help get his team the win.
“I just knew it was gonna go straight to the keep- er," Rodriguez said. "If it would've bounced back, I was just gonna finish it from there."
The two teams were
able to put some shots on goal early in the first half with two shots coming from Sealy at the 29 and 26 minute mark, which was responded by Freeman with two shots on goal of their own at the 25 and 24 minute mark.
