ABILENE — Tri-county athletes competed in the Texas High School Powerlifting Association (THSPA) Boys State Meet March 27 and 28 at Taylor County Expo in Abilene.
In Region 4, Division 2, Erick Guevara of La Grange placed second winning a silver medal in the 242 weight class with 700 in squats, 475 in bench press, 590 in deadlift with a total of 1,765; and, Kane Stone of Sealy in the 242 weight class placed ninth with 650 in squats, 450 in bench press, 575 in deadlift with a total of 1,675; and Hunter Sodolak of Sealy placed 15th in the 198 weight class with 550 in squats, 375 in bench press and 530 in deadlift with a total 1,455.
In Region 4, Division 3, Cooper Osborne of Columbus placed 10th in the 198 weight class with 650 in squats, 375 in bench press, 535 in deadlift with a total to 1,560; and Anthony Becerra of Rice placed 16th in the 148 weight class with 475 in squats, 335 in bench press, 435 in deadlift with a total of 1,245.
In Region 4, Division 4, Victor Hernandez placed sixth in the 242 weight class with 590 in squats, 420 in bench press, 540 in deadlift with a total of 1,550; and, Kevin Ramirez of Flatonia place eighth in the 275 weight class with 585 in squats, 460 in bench press, 530 in deadlift with a total of 1,575.
