Sealy Spring Fest set for April 11

SEALY — The annual Sealy Spring Fest will be held Saturday, April 11 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Sealy Historical Park at 211 East Main St. There will be great music from local musicians, the Brown Sugar Band and Mandi Powell. A fine art show and sale will take place on April 11, with a public reception on Friday, April 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. The art show will be held in the Bozeman House, a 1920s Craftsman bungalow, moved to the Sealy Historical Park last year. A plein air “quick draw” art competition will take place in the Downtown Historic District on April 11.

You can also make your own paintings at the art station. There are plenty of other opportunities to get creative, either by decorating a springtime hat to take home for a $5 fee, or you can decorate and fly a kite, also for a $5 fee.

Again this year, there will be an opportunity to be served lunch by ladies dressed in fancy, vintage clothing during the Victorian Tea Party. All ages are welcome to join the tea party. There will be demonstrations of beekeeping, musical instrument playing, and hand-churning ice cream. Vendors will be on hand selling a variety of hand-crafted items.

Throughout the day, there will be old-fashioned games, including a treasure hunt, hoop-and-stick races, and an egg toss competition. Barbecue, hamburgers, and hot dogs will be served by Kustom Kookers, owned by Rashonda and Henry Brown.

Admission is free. For more details, visit sealyhistoricalsociety. org.
