Glidden Baptist Church goes Beyond The Prayer

GLIDDEN — Beyond the Prayer Ministries began in October 2020 as an outreach of Glidden Baptist Church. While our initial focus was assisting the homeless, we have since expanded our mission— guided by Matthew 25:3536—to include feeding the hungry, welcoming strangers, providing clothing, and visiting the sick and incarcerated.

Our first mission took place on November 21, 2020, at a homeless camp in Austin. By going 'beyond the prayer,' we provided food and clothing while sharing the transformational love of Christ. These relationships have led several individuals to dedicate their lives to Him.

Additional programs include: • Word of Hope: Led by Lela Rogers, this ministry sends Bibles to incarcerated individuals.

• Plates of Grace: Established during the pandemic, this program has evolved from monthly drivethrough dinners to delivering approximately 80 meals to the elderly, the sick, and those in need.

• Prayer in the Parking Lot: Several times a year, our youth and adult members gather at the local Walmart parking lot to offer prayer and support to the community.

Donations can be sent to Glidden Baptist Church, P.O. Box 402, Columbus, TX 78934 (please specify the program in the memo line) or via Cash App at $GBCfamily.
