COLUMBUS – With graduation quickly approaching, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce will soon say goodbye to their Class of 2026 Junior Am- bassador, Alejandra Diaz.
As part of the chamber’s annual Junior Ambassador Scholarship program, it was time to select a new representative from the Columbus High School sophomore class.
The program is open to students entering 11th grade at Columbus Independent School District, including public, private, and home school students. After a competitive application process, the chamber is proud to announce Ty Wiggs as their new Chamber Junior Ambassador.
Wiggs brings a strong background in athletics, leadership, and agricultural involvement. Throughout high school, he has been actively involved in varsity football, varsity baseball, FFA, and travel baseball. Through these activities, he has developed discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills that have prepared him for success both on and off the field.
Wiggs has also earned numerous honors, including Academic All-District recognition in both football and baseball, 1st Team All-District Football, and 2nd Team All-State Defensive Line. In addition to his athletic achievements, he has excelled in FFA, earning both reserve grand champion and grand ghampion in ag mechanics, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Beyond school, he is dedicated to serving his community through volunteer work with St. Anthony Church events, the Cardinal Booster Club, and the Magnolia Days Festival. Wiggs is passionate about representing Columbus with pride, supporting local events and businesses, and being a positive role model for his peers.
The chamber is excited to welcome Wiggs to this leadership role and looks forward to the energy and perspective he will bring. They also extend their deepest thanks to Alejandra Diaz for her commitment and service over the past two years.
