COLUMBUS — Columbus Trash Off Days closed April 18 with the City of Columbus and local volunteers demonstrating a strong commitment to a clean and more beautiful community. The City of Columbus has supported Trash Off Days since 2007 by providing large item disposal for Columbus citizens at the City Maintenance Yard. The city ensures proper disposal of items brought in by working with Texas Disposal Systems. The city provided free limb chipping service April 13 – 17.

Local volunteers joined Columbus Trash Off Days by beautifying public gardens, picking up litter in area parks, and along highways. Columbus Trash Off Days are part of the statewide Keep Texas Beautiful “Don’t Mess with Texas” clean-up campaign and the Great American Clean Up.

This year, “The Greatest American Clean Up” is celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary.

Spring beautification activities continue until May 31. Join Keep Columbus Beautiful’s Spring Clean Up. Call/Text 979-7334343, or to report your volunteer work. Keep Columbus Beautiful is a project of the Columbus Garden Club.
