A number of area golfers have qualified for the UIL State Golf Tournament.
The boys tournament was held April 27-28 with qualifier Reid Janda of 2A Schulenburg at the Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin.
The girls tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday, May 4 and 5.
Qualifying in the 3A girls division, to be played at the Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin, from Columbus are Katharine Burnett, Thea Schobel, McKinley Wright, Mady Garcia and Madison McRee. Qualifying for the 1A girls division, which will be played at Crystal Falls Golf Club in Leander, from Round Top-Carmine are Alin Soto, Caydan Nelius, Angelica le Bouef, Makayla Smith and Avery Nelius; and Eva Shaw for Fayetteville.
