Open invitation to Magnolia Days Festival

COLUMBUS — As the Columbus Chamber of Commerce executive director and events coordinator, I’m excited to personally invite our community to join us for this year’s Magnolia Days Festival.

This cherished tradition brings our community together year after year. It’s a weekend the whole family can enjoy, and one that so many look forward to as a special time to gather on the Colorado County Courthouse Square in Downtown Columbus, reconnect with loved ones, and catch up with old friends.

The festival begins Friday, May 15, from 5 to 11 p.m. We’ll kick things off with an evening of live music featuring 35 Drive, Texas Unlimited Band, and Spazmatics.

In addition to great entertainment, there will be a family fun zone, a variety of arts-and-crafts vendors for shopping, a food village offering delicious options, and a beer-and-wine garden.

The celebration continues Saturday, May 16, from noon to 11 p.m. The day starts with a 5K run/walk at Hound Song, followed by a car show in the 1000 block of Milam, additional shopping opportunities on the square, and a historic homes tour highlighting the charm of our community.

The Magnolia Belles will also be part of the day’s festivities with a presentation at 1 p.m. Throughout the day, you can enjoy the food village, the beer and wine garden, and an exciting lineup of live music, including the Zydeco Dots, Barditch Hippies, and Glen Templeton.

I truly hope you’ll mark your calendars and come out to enjoy this special weekend with us. Magnolia Days Festival is a wonderful opportunity to connect with friends, support local vendors, and celebrate everything that makes our community so special. I look forward to seeing you there!
