LA GRANGE — The La Grange High School softball team pounded Manor New Tech High School March 13 at Lady Leopards Field in La Grange by a final score of 18-2. La Grange's bats were in full effect and their pitching was also stellar in a blowout win.
“It was nice to see that today,” said La Grange head softball coach Amanda Arlund.
"Obviously we've had a rough preseason, but we've played a lot of tough teams to prepare for this kind of thing and get in the right mindset. It was nice to see our bats come alive. We scored a lot of runs. Our last game vs Sealy, we scored a lot of runs, so it's like we're hitting that stride now. Right about the perfect time. It's what we like to see." Lady Leps junior pitcher Ma - rissa Gonzales tossed a gem with minimal damage and a couple strike outs in the two-inning onslaught. "My mindset was don't be too hard on myself,” Gonzales said. "If I mess up, just get past it and push through it."
