WHARTON - The Wharton County Junior
College Foundation, in part- nership with Wharton Coun ty Junior College, is proud to announce that Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. has
recently donated $10,000 toward scholarships for the
current academic year.
The purpose of the scholarships is to help cover tuition costs for financial ly needy students enrolled in Electronics Engineering Technology and Process Technology programs.
These scholarships were awarded to 11 students in
these programs during the 2025-26 academic year. "This donation reflects our commitment to devel -
oping the next generation of skilled professionals right
here in our region,” said
Wendy Irwin, CP Chem's public affairs representa - tive. "By supporting stu dents pursuing careers in process technology and electrical fields, we're help ing strengthen the local workforce while preparing them for stable, high-de mand career paths.”
The Wharton County Junior College Foundation
is a 501(C)(3) non-profit whose mission is to provide educational awareness and financial support to Whar ton County Junior College.
This includes student schol- arships and events to in crease community engage- ment and build awareness of the foundation and opportu - nities to give. "We are incredibly grateful to Chevron Phil - lips Chemical Co. for this investment in our students," said Gary Gillen, the WCJC Foundation's board presi dent. “Their commitment to education and workforce development opens doors for individuals striving to build meaningful careers, while strengthening the future of our community.
