LAVACA COUNTY - The Lavaca County Sher -
iff's Office recently received information from credible
sources that Mexican cartel operatives are actively look - ing to steal trucks to be used in smuggling drugs and illegal aliens.
This methodology, ac- cording to Lavaca County SO, is similar to criminal conduct in 2021 when ille -
gal operatives were in full force in Lavaca County and
surrounding areas. Please
be vigilant and take neces sary steps to try and secure your truck. These criminals know no boundaries and are likely to infiltrate Colorado,
Fayette and other counties.
Lavaca County SO is working with Operation Lone Star Task Force, West Side HIDTA Task Force,
USMS, HSI, ICE, ERO, and the DEA to be proactive
across county lines.
