Students in Audrey Dyer’s eighth grade science class at Columbus Junior High—recent recipients of a Columbus Education Foundation (CEF) Classroom Grant—are excited about the CEF Duck Der Saturday, May 16. Come cheer on the race from 11 a.m. to noon at Beason’s Crossing (East River Bridge), then head straight to the Coloradou County Courthouse square as the celebration continues with Magnolia Days festivities.
Bring lawn chairs or a blanket, enjoy food and drinks, and watch for a kid-favorite giveaway-the first 50 children will receive a duckshaped bottle of bubbles. CEF is a 501c3 nonprofit foundation that funds scholarships for high school seniors—whether heading to trade schools, two-year, or four-year colleges— and classroom grants for innovative teacher projects that exceed the traditional budget.
