Austin County Livestock Association to hold meeting

CAT SPRING — The 76th annual meeting of the Austin County Livestock Association will be held on Thursday, June 4, at the Cat Spring Agricultural Hall in Cat Spring.

fering a program for three hours of CEU credits: Pesti - cide Laws & Regulations by Dr. Mark Matocha, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Program Specialist-Agri-

cultural and Environmental Safety; New World Screw -

worm Update by Dr. Sonja Swiger, Texas A&M AgriL -

ife Extension Program Specialist-Livestock/Veter - inary/Medical Entomolo - gist; Methods of Herbicide Applications from IPT to Drones by Nicholas Villar - real, Owner and Operator of Trail's End Services. Three (3) TDA CEU's will be offered for this pro - gram: 1 General, 1 IPM, and 1 L&R. Registration for the CEU program will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. with a fee of $30 per person. This fee in -

cludes membership of the Austin County Livestock

Association.

The CEU program will be from 1:30 to 5 p.m. The annual meeting will follow with registration starting at 5:30 p.m. A catered meal will be provided by Scho - vajsa Catering Inc. Fol - lowing the meal, there will be a guest speaker, a short business meeting, and door prizes. The guest speaker will be Wes Mason, sales repre - sentative with Purina, with information on the cattle market and nutrition. The association has been com - mitted to awarding scholar ships to outstanding youth in Austin County who plan to enroll in college and ma- jor in agriculture.

The association also helps support other agri- cultural-related activities throughout the year. The membership fee for 2026 is $30 per person. Included in the payment of your dues is one meal at the annual meeting and coverage of a $500 reward for recovery of livestock stolen from you. Current directors of the Austin County Livestock Association include Presi- dent Steven Jackson, Vice President Glenn Brandt, Secretary/Treasurer Ran dall Tipp, and, directors Darrell Kolwes, Ricky Huff, Lew Ellyn Gross, J.D. McKay, Louis Divin, Malcolm Dittert, Herbert Schumann, Jim Grigar and Greg Schubert.
