Twenty-four students have earned their Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing from Wharton County Junior College. A pinning ceremony was held on May 6 at the Horton Foote Theatre on the Wharton campus. Graduates included, Colorado County: Ashley Gonzalez of Columbus; Fort Bend County: Aliyah Anzaldua Meyen of Richmond, Splendide Dembe of Richmond, Carine Faleru of Rosenberg, Mallory Ferguson of Missouri City, Shanneque Gandy of Sugar Land, Emily Gay of Richmond, Kristin Grimsley of Missouri City, Erica Hart of Katy, Jisung Hwang of Katy, Tamara Meyer of Needville, Daniela Ortiz of Sugar Land, Lorelei Ralleca of Missouri City, Gustavo Rivero of Richmond, Rafael Santiago of Richmond and LaQuisha Taylor of Richmond; Galveston County: Jeovani Martinez of Bacliff; Harris County: Teresa Hernandez of Houston and Rodiat Sulaiman of Houston; Matagorda County: Wendy Murphy of Bay City and Alexandria Tapia of Palacios; Wharton County: Ashlyn Rodriguez of Boling, Alejandra Villanueva of Wharton and Jesica Waddy of Wharton. The Associate Degree Nursing program begins in August at WCJC’s Wharton campus and in January at WCJC’s Sugar Land campus. A 12-month LVN-ADN transition program begins in May for students already licensed as vocational nurses.
