BELLVILLE - The 19th Annual Youth and Safety Day recently welcomed 324 third-grade students, along with 22 teachers, 11 tour guides, 14 presenters, and four dedicated committee vol- unteers in Bellville. This annual event is designed to teach children from all Austin County school districts about critical safety topics to prevent accidents and save lives.
Students took part in a series of hands-on safety demonstrations and educational sessions orga- nized by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Austin County, in partnership with the Austin County Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Board.
Presenters from multiple agencies and organizations led engaging sessions on topics such as emergency awareness with EMS, gun safety, electrical safety, boating safety, 4-H promotion, fire safety, poison con trol, and horse safety.
