Austin County 4-H members attend state round-up

COLLEGE STATION — Austin County 4-H members attended the State 4-H Round Up in College Station during the first week of June.

There were 20-plus members who attended workshops, competitions, assemblies and much more. Results are as follows: •Quiz Bowl — Coached by Janet and Rodney Melnar, second place at State; Luke Schumann, first place High Point Individual; Kinley Kokemor, Claire Scheider, and Presley Jacob, advanced to National contest in Louisville, Ky.

•Rifle Team - Coached by Brian Gardner and Michael Svinky, third place at State; Brady Svinky, first place High Point Individual; Ryleigh Davenport, Jake Forrester, and Case Eckermann.

•Educational Presentation — Grace Lischka, fourth place at State.

•Livestock Judging — Coached by Craig Melton, seventh place at State; Darcy Luedke, fourth place High Point Individual; Levi Malinowski, Paisley Miller and Teaghan Eckelberg.

•Public Speaking — Katie Schumann, seventh place at State.

•Food Challenge — Coached by Andrea Krenek – Elaina Shupak, Emma Krenek, Charlee Menefee and Katie Geistmann.

•Vet Skill-a-thon — Coached by Kristin Kennedy – Annabelle Weber.

Poultry Judging — Self-led Program - Luke Schumann.

Paisley Miller has been elected to the State 4-H Council as first vice chairman for the 20262027 year.
