BELLVILLE — The Bellville Police Department issued a press release in May stating officers with the Bellville Police Department received information of a male contacting underage females through social media apps.
Through an intensive investigation, it was found that the male sent multiple messages to underage females attempting to meet up to engage in sexual acts. Upon gathering information, the case was presented to the Austin County District Attorney's Office on June 8, where warrants were obtained.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., officers with the Bellville Police Department observed Anthony Phearse, 31, of Bellville and placed him into custody for two counts of online solicitation of a minor, which is a second degree felony.
Phearse is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
