BELLVILLE — Charles Beers, chairman of the Austin County Republican Party, would like to welcome everyone and give the first announcement of their August fundraising function for 2026. This year in addition to their traditional dinner, speaker and auctions, they will be adding a band to close out the evening's entertainment. Congressman Michael Cloud will be the primary guest speaker and State Senator Lois Kolkhorst will likely be featured as well. Dennis Geesaman, candidate for State House for District 85, will also be present.
They have collected some great items for their live auction, which we will be announced in the coming weeks.
They have contracted with Josh Ward for the music from 9 until 10:30 p.m. Ward is a new and upcoming musician from the Houston area. He was scheduled to play at the Rock the Country event in May, but unfortunately for him, as well as several other groups, it was rained out. The event will be catered by Hinze's BBQ from Sealy (unfortunately, Mikeska's, which served them at the last several events, has gone out of business).
