BELLVILLE - The Bellville Hospital Foundation raised over $197,012.47 to support the Bellville Hospital. This total represents not only the success of the event itself but also the collective dedication of individuals, families, and businesses who believe in the importance of supporting Bellville’s hospital.
This year’s theme was “Boots, Buckles & Bolos” and drew a sold-out crowd to an evening filled with music, fine dining, spirited bidding, and heartfelt community support. It was held at the beautifully appointed Red Ranch, and the event blended rustic elegance with lively entertainment, creating a night that guests described as one of the foundation’s most memorable celebrations yet.
Red Ranch’s sweeping oak-lined grounds and warm architectural details offered a welcoming backdrop as guests arrived. Attendees were greeted by a festive Mariachi band, and as the sun set, the spotlight shifted to the evening’s featured musician, Texas favorite Johnny Falstaff, who kept the crowd engaged throughout dinner.
Guests enjoyed an array of culinary and beverage offerings, including fine wines, bourbon tastings, handcrafted margaritas, and a cigar bar featuring a professional cigar roller crafting hand-rolled cigars on site. The atmosphere was relaxed yet refined, with laughter and conversation filling the air as neighbors, business owners, and longtime supporters gathered around tables to reconnect.
The live auction highlight of the bidding was watching Mrs. Zapalac’s “Casseroles for a year” package sell for over $10,000. The friendly competition added excitement to the night, and every winning bid directly supported the foundation’s mission to strengthen healthcare in Austin County.
The gala served as a powerful reminder of Bellville’s deep commitment to its hospital. Longtime sponsors, affectionately referred to by organizers as the “usual suspects,” once again showed up in force, joined by first-time attend ees eager to contribute. Their combined generosity helped push the event to a new milestone, demonstrating how strongly the community values access to high-quality, local medical care.
The proceeds will help support critical equipment upgrades, enhance patient care spaces, and expand the hospital’s ability to provide essential services close to home.
Specifically, the hospital is buying a brand-new bone density scanning machine for the hospital to replace one that is “hanging on by a thread.”
