LA GRANGE — The Weimar Vets traveled to La Grange on July 19 to Voelkel-Koether Field to face the Serbin Jackrab- bits in the first round of the Community League Playoffs.
A five-run second in ning by Serbin followed up by the sole run scored by the Vets in the fourth even- tually led to a final of 9-1.
The Vets could not muster a valiant charge after the second.
Offensive leaders were Jayce Janda, single, double; Conner Geisler, single, walk, RBI; Brett Janacek, single; Kannyn Goehring, single; Mo Pavlik, walk; Huxton Kloesel, run scored.
Defensive standouts were Goehring, Trevor Brown, Janda catching the entire game.
Demarcus “Ray” Thompson pitched four innings, striking out six, walking only two and allowing only one earned run.
