COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Fair Association invites Colorado County youth to participate in the Little Miss, Little Mr. and Junior Miss pageant contests.
The events will be held at Founder’s Hall on the Colorado County Fairgrounds in Columbus on Saturday, Sept. 5, beginning at 5:30 p.m., with the Junior Miss contest starting at 6 p.m.
Little Miss and Little Mr. contests are for children ages 5, 6 or 7 as of Sept. 1. The Junior Miss contest is for contestants ages 8, 9 or 10 as of Sept. 1.
Participants must reside in Colorado County or be enrolled in a Colorado County public, private or homeschool.
The contest entry fee is $25, and the contest will have an on-stage interview before a panel of out-ofcounty judges.
Western attire is recommended, yet optional, with a score being 90% on-stage personality and 10% appearance.
Contest winners must be available to ride the fair float in area parades and participate in fair events, and parents are required to help maintain and decorate the fair float.
Little Miss and Little Mr. contestants should check in at the fairgrounds hall no later than 5 p.m. and Jr. Miss contestants check in next, at 5:15 p.m.

Items contestants need are headshot photo and entry card returned with $25 entry fee.
Deadline to enter is Thursday, Aug. 27, by 4:30 p.m. to the Columbus cham- ber office.
