BASKETBALL:
RICE
Rice High School is known for having really athletic and talented athletes across many sports, but basketball is their specialty and now that their volleyball team seems to be improving, there’s a good chance that a certain amount of volleyball players will be playing basketball.
Even though volleyball and basketball are two totally different sports, they still both require athletic abilities in similar areas, such as jumping and ball control.
Rice has severely struggled over the last two years, but they made six times of their win total in 2024 last year, which is a drastic improvement. With how things have been going for them, it seems this team is only going to get better.
GOLF:
BELLVILLE

The Bellville High School golf team, girls and boys, have had a good amount of success in recent years.
It’s known that Bellville has good athletes and they’ve brought those kind of athletes to the golf course. Whether it was a few years ago or just last year, Bellville has put on a good showing in bunch of tournaments.
They also play in a lot of tournaments, which helps their experience and their game because the more they play, the better they will eventually get.
As this program has been solid for a while, it’s looking like they’ll continue to have success in the upcoming season.
SOFTBALL:
SCHULENBURG

The Schulenburg High School softball team made drastic improvements last season and there’s no reason why they can’t continue to improve. They more than doubled their win total from the season before and they proved last year that they're good at finding ways to win games.
Schulenburg is a school that’s known for having good sports programs as well and softball can be one of those teams if they continue the pace they’re on by visibly improving on the field and on paper.
They showed last year that they have the pieces to put a good team together, now it’s just continuing that stride doing some of the things they did last year in order to put together wins.
TRACK:
COLUMBUS

The Columbus High School track team has made it to state many times over the years and it’s because they’ve had top notch speed and athleticism that stands out over most teams.
As noted previously, Columbus is one of those schools that is good in a ton of sports and track is definitely one of those sports with how often they make it to state.
It’s usually not just a few athletes that make it. It’s usually a lot of them, so that speaks to the level they’re able to compete at and it also shows on paper with the amount of success they’ve had at making it to the big stage.
